The Caracol publishing house
was set up in Palermo in 2004 on the advice of Florinda Ciaramitaro,
Monica Craparo and Stefania Guastella, three young architects who
share the interest in the history of art and architecture. The desire
to cooperate in spreading the knowledge of the rich Sicilian heritage
and the passion for the graphic design have been an incentive to
fulfill their idea.

Caracol is a publishing house mainly
orientated towards the publication of books and brochure, in paper
or digital format, with the aim of increasing the public awareness
of culture, art and architecture.
It pursues a strong interest in spreading the huge artistic and
architectural Sicilian heritage in Italy and abroad and in providing
the public opinion with an island’s image beyond the common
beliefs, increasing information and curiosity on famous, but also
lesser-known, monuments.
Furthermore, the publishing house develops graphic project to promote
and place a higher value on companies, assessing original and creative
solutions, paying attention to the graphic design in devising logos,
visiting cards, headed notepaper and web site.
Finally, Caracol deals with brochures graphic design for congress,
exibitions and other cultural activity.
